Looking for the best way to celebrate? Grab friends, family and loved ones and head along for live music, comedy and various other fun events happening at The Mill Castlemaine this summer.

Following is a list of one-off ticketed events, but there are also regular happenings, such as free* live music on Fridays from 8pm and Sundays from 5pm at the Shedshaker Brewing Co. Taproom.

We start with options for seeing out 2023 and kicking things off with a bang to bring in the New Year.


Castlemaine’s danciest and funnest New Year’s Eve is back again at The Taproom at Shedshaker Brewing Co. with party specialists King Stone!
Dance away 2023 to the very best ska tunes with all the trimmings. King Stone are supported by the Bossa Nova Trio for even more of the dancing fun!

Boomtown Winemakers is another great spot to see in the New Year (and numerous other events for that matter).

With some last minute hustle they’ve managed to pull together HOT VARIETY 2.0 with The Bridge Hotel, 5 minutes’ walk away.

2 venues, 1 ticket…a huge night of live music and DJs, projections, food, drinks, people, dancing and letting off so much built up steam!

Acts will include M79 (beer garden, 2 sets), Joey Lightbulb, DJ Assworth, F B 2, Jo Huff (live), David Egg, Chip Souvlaki, Scrambled Eggs, Boomtown DJs and more.

Your ticket includes entry to both Boomtown and the Bridge from 5pm till 1am. Both venues will have an ample food and drink offerings.

The Delicados
Saturday 16 December – 8pm
Shedshaker Brewing Co. Taproom

Ready to party? Melbourne-based soulful rock band Dalicados are coming to the Shedshaker Brewing Co. Taproom, so you better be ready to dance. Drawing on 1960s influences and encompassing traditional and classical elements of soul revue bands, Dalicados songs are seasoned with Australian and popular culture lyrical references, comedic twists and enormous empathy. Now they return to the Taproom for a very special pre-Christmas show to kick party season up another gear!

Laughs on Tap
Wednesday 20 December – 8pm
Shedshaker Brewing Co. Taproom

Comedy is back for some good laughs before the joys of Christmas! Headline act Simon Taylor made history by becoming the first Aussie to do stand-up on Jimmy Fallon’s talk show and he has also been a writer for Jay Leno! Simon is supported by local laughsters Luke Morris and Ash Greblo with more acts to come!

Saturday 23 December
Shedshaker Brewing Co. Taproom

They’re getting the band back together… and they may actually be trying to save an orphanage. Or not. Gus and Crag are back at the Taproom for another of our favourite mash-up of trivia and karaoke, with an obligatory Christmas theme. Martha Spencer and Archer

Martha Spencer is a singer-songwriter, mountain musician and dancer from the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. She has played shows, festivals and led workshops across the US, Australia, UK, Canada, and Europe. Her first solo album and latest release “Wonderland” have been featured widely across music media. Archer is a folk musician, a country blues crooner poet and author. He has written hundreds of songs and spends most days planting trees and feeding delicacies to a giant cow. His is a unique and captivating voice.
