Heading to Castlemaine some time soon? There is plenty to do at The Mill Castlemaine.
What started as a woollen mill in 1875 has transformed into a go-to zone for visitors and locals alike – a place for food and artisan manufacturing – a part of Castlemaine’s vibrancy.
The reimagined industrial site is home to vintage markets ‘the size of four basketball courts’ according to journalist Emma Mulholland in her recent article in the QANTAS in flight magazine. There is also handmade cleverness and upcycled industrial homewares.
You can get your foodie fix at the onsite Austrian cafe and coffee roastery, the sourdough bakery and the traditional smallgoods ‘fleischmeister’. Spend some time in the beer garden sipping on craft beers, with the added bonus of free live music on Friday evenings and Sunday afternoons. And pizza… delicious pizza. Sample local wines at the cellar door.
