Pilates at The Mill offers Fitness & Clinical Pilates Classes, Pilates Mat classes and Prenatal & Postnatal classes with a range of highly qualified and experienced instructors.

Dynamic mat based group classes focusing posture strength and flexibility.
BENEFITS OF PILATES
- Focusing breath and mindful movement reduces stress and assists ease of movement.
- Resistance and load from apparatus and props increases strength.
- Intelligent focus on joint movement promotes core stability and increases mobility in the joints, which is much more functional and long lasting than stretching.
- Rolling, spinal articulation and pushing and pulling through the limbs stimulates digestion, aids lymphatic and blood circulation and improves spinal mobility.
- Use of rollers, wobble boards, balls and springs to destabilise increases proprioception through the joints and fascia, improves balance and promotes organic organisation throughout the body.
Suitable for all levels, beginners welcome.
Pilates at The Mill has now reopened for in studio sessions as well as Zoom mat classes. Please contact your preferred instructor to discuss the classes they are offering. To assist with your decision, following is a snapshot of the availability of the various instructors during regular times.
There will be more face to face studio classes in 2021, but mat classes will stay online for now.

Georgia holds a PhD in Performance Studies and is a comprehensively qualified Pilates Instructor (Diploma, Aligned for Life Pilates, Melbourne). She has studied dance and movement practices for over 20 years and has trained and performed nationally and internationally.
Georgia began the Pilates method to develop full body strength, flexibility and endurance for dance performances. She enjoys working with people of all body types and abilities, focusing on creating stability and balance in the body and helping clients work towards more challenging levels.
Georgia has witnessed the benefits of a consistent Pilates workout for her clients, and provides individual & creative programs, designed for specific special conditions and client goals. She believes enhanced strength, flexibility and endurance achieved through a Pilates practice has a positive effect on the mind and body as a whole.

Helen discovered Pilates after years of yoga, running and gym with persistent back pain and poor posture 21 years ago. Life had been pretty hectic for 18 years in the corporate world as an advertising Art Director and a change in career was needed.
Helen has been teaching Pilates for 17 years and is Level 3 Diploma certified after training with both APMA and PAA in Melbourne at National Pilates Training Centre. She keeps up with ongoing professional development workshops and conferences and is especially interested in areas of bone density strengthening and conditioning for sport.
After working at various Pilates studios in Melbourne Helen opted for country life in Castlemaine in 2011 and hasn’t looked back. She loves seeing the progressive change in peoples’ bodies and how Pilates can have such a positive effect on all aspects of their daily lives.
When not in the Pilates studio Helen is usually being creative in her art studio painting, printmaking or drawing. She is also a keen cyclist. Helen is at the Pilates studio on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays and will be opening Thursday mornings for classes.

Satoko started Pilates 13 years ago in Japan, after finding Pilates relieved her severe lower back pain. She has had a love and passion for the Pilates method ever since. In 2008 Satoko trained to become an instructor with Polestar Pilates in Japan, and in 2010 moved to Melbourne with her husband. In 2013 she completed the Pilates Diploma course with Polestar in Melbourne.
Satoko has taught in many studios in Melbourne with a wide range of clientele, including Prenatal and Postnatal Pilates classes, which she is particularly interested in. She is an enthusiastic teacher with a depth of knowledge, and generous teaching methods which ensure all who take her class leave feeling calm, strong and energized.
Satoko is also interested in the connection between the physical and the emotional, and has trained in Reiki, Kinegetics (Kinesiology and balancing energy), and Australian Bush Flower Essences. She wants to continue to develop her knowledge and skills to be able to support her clients in a holistic way.
Satoko also enjoys spending time with her family including her gorgeous Chihuahuas Roi, Toro and Sheila, and doing crochet!
