Visitors to The Mill Castlemaine may have spied some high-profile chefs and their teams coming to The Cheese School. They have been hosting not only some of the best chefs and their kitchen crews, but also corporate squads who come for a fun team-building day based around cheese.
They call it the Cheese Demo and it works for small groups who want to see a real artisan cheesemaker at work, have a hands-on experience making cheese, and then enjoy a degustation of the different cheeses we make. Some teams make a large wheel of cheese which we carefully age for six to eight months. They can then 3D-etch their logo onto the wheel with a laser.
The Cheese School encourages teams to make the most of their trip to The Mill and visit other food and beverage produces. Buy chocolate at Cabosse & Feve Chocolates, have coffee at Das Kaffeehaus, buy ham from Oakwood Smallgoods, have a beer at Shedshaker and explore wines at Boomtown.
This is a new product for The Cheese School, but it is proving great fun and a wonderful way for them to introduce people from Melbourne and elsewhere to their cheese and what Castlemaine has to offer.
