KIKA Design Studio and Gallery – Mosaic workshops & beautiful artworks

KIKA Design Studio & Gallery is a bespoke studio and gallery space that is run by artisan maker Kirsten Asche.

Kirsten’s path towards her current practice has been through various forms of study and mentoring, interwoven with other pursuits, and honed by years of visual observation and response. Mosaic is her current focus, using glass tiles, recycled crockery and beads as well semi-precious stones in order to create rich patterns and capture narrative.

Kirsten runs regular mosaic workshops and classes from her gallery workshop space which are ideal for returning students as well as beginners.

The workshops and classes on offer include “Mosaic & Merlot” where students are able to sample local wine from Boomtown Wines, enjoy a cheese platter and other local produce from The Mill.

During Kirsten’s one day workshops, students will design and create a beautiful bird or butterfly as a unique take home piece. The four week classes generally involve creating a more in depth project, such as a beautiful mirror frame. Further guidance and direction are given as students work with color and design.

The workshops  are run regularly on the second Saturday of the month.   Classes in a block of four are run every three months and can be booked through Eventbrite.
